Hitesh Master, a man with a dream, has gained popularity within a short time in the Chicago area. Hitesh belongs to the family of Nayaki Mewati Gharana and son of the eminent Pandit Varajlal Nayak of Junagadh who was the disciple of Ustad
Rajab Alikhan, Ustad Zande Khan and Ustad Latif Khan.
Hitesh at the tender age of 3 was put to
training in vocal music with a harmonium by his father. His enhanced his music career from Ustad Rajan Khan, Ustad Bashir Khan of
Dewas, Pandit Rambaba Petiwale and Pandit Mohan Junior. Pt. Mohan Junior introduced
him to the great music director Kalyanji Anandji. Hitesh
received a Masters degree in Music from Gandharva Maha Vidyalaya, Ahmedabad. He also played in the orchestra of the Shankar-Jaikishan
duo. In 1990, he was appointed Head of Department of Music in the International School of Zambia. He arrived in Chicago in 1997 and established Orchestra Saregama with highly talented musician friends from India.
